With little else to do during the holidays apart from relaxing in front of the television, many find themselves thoroughly enjoying the spectacle provided by the Netflix drama Bridgerton - which quickly became the most-watched series on the streaming platform after its release on Christmas Day.

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, this series features a story of drama, romance and some costumes that really spoil our eyes, creating an online sensation from the main character overnight.

Jonathan Bailey, who plays the character of Bridgerton's eldest son, Anthony, was previously known for his appearances in Broadchurch and the comedy series entitled Campus , as well as for his theater role which won him awards. As a huge fan of musicals (his passion is watching flashmob music videos on YouTube, he told Bazaar ), Jonathan decided he wanted to act after watching Oliver's show !when he was five years old, and went on to have a very successful career in theater. He was nominated for Outstanding Newcomer at the 2012 Evening Standard Theater Awards for his performance in David Hare's South Downs; he also played the role of Tim Price in the musical version of American Psycho with Matt Smith in 2013; then in 2017, he performed with Ian McKellen at King Lear at the Chichester Festival Theater; and in 2018, he was cast in Company , where he won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
